About Valley Farm.

Situated on the Heritage Coast. Valley Farm is home to the Marson Family (Janey, Piers & daughters Ada and Eve) and an assortment of animals! Set on 90 acres of meandering horse paddocks & waterways frequented by resident Barn Owls and Marsh Harriers, we're an ideal location for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of day to day life and enjoy a peaceful location close to some of Suffolks most attractive villages, pubs and scenery.

The farm hosts part of the nearly 100 horses the main stud farm (next door farm) looks after. Breeding Anglo Arab competition horses for eventing and endurance for three generations ( www.hcstud.com ), Jane, a qualified animal nutritionist & AI Technician, manages the stud day to day. Unfortunately we don't offer guests riding.

We have lived here since 2000 and have 2 children (Ada and Eve). Setting about restoring this formerly derelict farm in to a viable business, including converting old stables and building in to our cottages, enjoyed by holiday guests since 2003.

Nearest Village, Shops & Pubs

Our nearest Village is Orford (5 mins drive) is one of Suffolk pretties villages. Host to a Norman Castle, 2 pubs and a hotel/restaurant (Crown & Castle) run by the renowned Hotelier and broadcaster Ruth Watson and a Bakery! The village shop is small but has a good range of general provisions & there is a local fisherman on the keyside if you enjoy fresh fish to cook, or the Butley Oysterage if eating local seafood out is easier. For the nearest supermarket there is a Tesco (and opposite it) & Waitrose in Saxmundham which is only 15 minutes drive away. (railway station with connections to Ipswich & London). The village is situated on the River Alde & a walk along the riverwall followed by tea in the Riverside tea room or lunch and a pint in the Jolly Sailor is one of our favourite recommendations! The environment

We have added in recent years 30kw of solar panels to help power the farm to do our bit for the environment. The farm itself is SSSI (Sites of Special Scientific Interest) and ESA (Environmentally Sensitive Area) and forms part of a larger farm owned by Janey's family, of 700 acres which is in HLS stewardship and other environmental schemes, with most of the land is pasture land, grazed by sheep and horses.
